A boot is a type of footwear. Most boots mainly cover the foot, the ankle and extends up the leg. Sometimes it covers as far as the knee or even the hip, like the hunter boots. Most boots have a heel that is clearly noticeable from the rest of the sole, even if the two are made of one piece. Conventionally boots are made of leather or rubber. Modern boots, like the stuart weitzman boots are made from a variety of materials.

Boots are worn for their functionality. Boots are great for protecting the feet and legs from water when there is flood; from cold when there is snow; from mud or hazards. It is also great in providing additional ankle support for strenuous activities, just like hunting. Other than that, boots has this way of exuding people’s personality. Somehow, it kind of shows a bit of the wearer’s attitude.

There are a lot of other boots available in shopping malls and online store. Buying your pair can be tricky though because not only do they have to fit your feet, they have to fit the leg too. So it is important to know those details when you are buying online because you do not want to end up with something you cannot actually wear. Of you probably can but does not feel comfortable, which defeats a boots’ purpose.

It is officially fall. In few months, it will be winter time. I love winter. I love snow. I am one of the few people in the state of Alabama that wishes for a heavy snow every winter. The downside of having a really heavy snow in Alabama is the state's readiness towards this kind of weather. Alabama is not snow ready. Alabama drivers are not used to slippery roads and doesn't have snow tire chains. Should heavy winter comes, I am sure that electricity bill of Alabama residents will be really high. Most residents are not used to a cold weather so they will use a lot of heat. Many residents will have to have to need new water heater installation in their homes. There are far too many things to think about just to make sure that everybody will be comfortable during winter times.

Balikbayan is the Filipino term for someone who left the country for another country for a long time and comes home. They probably left for work or for immigration.

When we go home to the Philippines, we make sure to fill in our boxes with goodies that are either hard to find there or more expensive if bought there. We have become bargain hunters, always on the lookout for sales and coupons. In fact, just a few months ago, we chanced upon discount liquor. We bought just enough for my wife’s brothers back in the Philippines.

Other than those, we are continuously stocking up on different kinds and brands of chocolates. This is a staple in every box that we fill. So far, we already have M&M crispies, M&M with peanuts, Hershey’s kisses in different variants (Milk Chocolate with Almond, Caramel, Milk Chocolate, and Special Dark), Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Twix, Mars, 3 Musketeers, and Milky Way. We also have Skittles on stock. The kids and practically anyone with sweet tooth back home will surely have a feast when we arrive.

We are still looking for deals on bags and shoes for my wife’s aunts and cousins. We have a bought a few already but our list is still long.

We had a great family bonding today. We went to watch the Lion King Movie. We ordered a drink and a popcorn while watching the movie. We enjoyed watching the movie.

After we watched the movie, we went to dine at Joe's Crab Shack. The restaurant have their own playground. While waiting for our food, Andrea played in their playground. When the food was served, we ate our bucket of crabs and french fries. We ordered a scoop of ice cream with chocolate syrup for the little girl. After we ate, we continued playing at the playground.

After we paid for our bill at the restaurant, we went to the store to buy for our groceries. We then came home and watched football.

'Twas a great Sunday bonding for us!

One of my wife's friends back in her home country has applied for permanent residency in Canada. Her family has been busy complying all the requirements needed for their application these past months. Last June, after completing all the required papers, they got a letter from the Canadian embassy and were already given a reference number for their application. The letter also stated that the principal applicant, her husband’s papers has been reviewed and have been found to be positive for eligibility assessment. They still don’t know if this is somehow a step closer to being approved. But they are still awaiting and hoping, and while they are, they have been looking for Calgary Apartments that they can rent once they set foot in Canada. Finding a house or an apartment is one of the very first important moves they should do. Since they do not have a relative who lives in Calgary, they will have to ask for some help from one of their friends who live in Toronto. It will surely be a big step and move for them. I just hope that the Lord will grant the desires of their heart.

Canada can really offer them great opportunities as both of them are professionals and a brighter future for their kids await them too.
I swear I didn't know that the speed limit of the road that I have driven last night was 40mph. I was driving at 56mph because I thought the speed limit was 55mph. The police officer pulled me over for over-speeding. This speeding ticket will be costly. Ouch!

I really need to be careful driving under the speed limit because this is my 2nd speeding ticket in 2 years span.

Sometimes in our life we feel lonely, weary and downcast. There are times that even our own families could not suffice for the happiness we are looking for. There is never contentment in this world. We all look for something that will never make us content. When we are hungry, we eat and still would want more. If we have a house that can shelter us from the rain and sun, we want a bigger one, we have a car, we want another one. We all want more than what we have now, that is with the temporal things. But what about our soul, our spirit? Are we feeding it and nurturing it? Because we are too overwhelmed with all materials and the things of this world, we tend to neglect our spirit. There is a need for us to cultivate and foster good thoughts and ideas for our spirit. Spiritual Wellness is also important because man cannot live by bread alone. The spirit also needs to be fed with the Word of God so that it will not become weak, and will be able to resist temptations. God’s word is the best defense against the most vicious lures and work of the evil minds. So take some time out and read a verse or two and nurture your soul.

Our upcoming travel to the Philippines is fast approaching. It is going to be one tough journey since we will be paying a lot for airfare alone since our daughter will have to be included already. Not to mention when we get there, we still have to shell out money for my wife’s parent’s golden wedding anniversary celebration. Not that I am complaining, I am just thinking of how we are going to suit our expenses and fit them well. Aside from the celebration, there will be other expenses to think of, like my wife’s planning to have a tour and treat some of her friends and some other plans which will surely mean opening our wallets bigger. So I guess starting now, we will be tightening our belts if we really want to have a blast in my wife’s home country. Seriously, I am thinking of applying for payday loans, this is just in case we would need extra money for our travel. I am looking for a payday loan store with easy payday loan applications and payment options. I would really like to be prepared for our scheduled trip, who knows there might be emergencies and unexpected expenses.

If I can’t save enough for the trip, then I would really have to apply for those loans. Then I would be paying them off once we get back.

Our weekend was not much of anything. It even seems like the weekend just flew by.

I went fishing Friday night but it seems like the fish were not there. I only caught two so I decided to just came home.

Saturday, we did our grocery shopping. We went to the grocery store near the creek that I fish. No wonder I wasn't able to catch a lot of fish because the water in the creek was too low. We watched college football and watched a chick flick movie.

Sunday, we just laze around. We spend few hours at Mom's then we came home for another dose of football.

It was just mostly football weekend for us.

My wife loves to shop, especially when there are clearance sales, she would drag us to the mall and she would just shop till she drops. Lately she has bought clothes for guys at a sale in one of her favorite stores. Since we are scheduled for a vacation to her home country, the Philippines, come February next year, she has bought this early her gifts for her relatives. Actually she has been collecting and buying her gifts and putting them in a big box, once that big box becomes full and bulky, it will be ready for shipping. The box is full of shirts, guys jeans, canned goods, a whole lot of bar soaps, lotions, toiletries, chocolates, some small tools and gadgets, all these she has collected all these months.

Lately, she wanted to shop for some lingerie since there was a sale in one of her favorite lingerie brands. She even convinced her online friends to grab the opportunity, but unfortunately, she just missed the last day of the sale.
My wife just continues to amaze me, I just allow her to shop as a reward for being the most wonderful woman that she is, for being so loving and for her unconditional love for me and our daughter.
I can't believe that we are already in the third week of College Football.

Well, LSU is doing good so far. Their defense are really at its best. You know how excited I am about the way LSU is performing.

Though I was at work while LSU was playing last night, I was still updated about the game because I listed to it at the radio. I wish I was home watching the game but of course work first before pleasure.

Early last year, I bought a brand new sports utility vehicle replacing my 5 year-old sedan. Came with it were several freebies like seat covers, car alarm system and several repair tools. Being a diligent buyer, what matters most to me was the warranty and insurance coverage that came with it. Fully satisfied with the terms and conditions of the warranty and insurance, I drove home the car feeling a sense of accomplishment because I got what I wanted.

But alas! Just into the third week of my driving with the new car, I already encountered a major problem. The muffler would blow a lot of smoke when running. Also I can feel that the power of the engine to pull the car weight was reduced. I immediately have the car checked in the dealer’s authorized repair shop. It was found out that there was a defect on the injection pump of the car. The mechanic informed me that as the car was still under the warranty period, there would be no problem replacing it with brand new spare parts. Since I was in a hurry, I paid in cash for the injection pump having in mind that I would have it reimbursed by the dealer. That’s where my problem came in. The dealer would not refund the money I spent for the simple reason that I did not informed their office immediately. Sensing that I will not have the advantage of arguing with them, I decided to consult California Lemon law lawyers. I found one near my office. The law office specializes in Lemon Law disputes. The lawyer who handled my claim easily presented to the dealer my argument. As lawyers were trained to do that, I was able to get the refund within the day. Thanks to the able services of Lemon Law attorneys in California.

We had a blast last night as we ate sweets at Dairy Queen Restaurant. My little girl was so happy to have her vanilla ice cream cone dipped in chocolate. I had my banana split while Lulu had a mini blizzard.

Of course, the pictures says it all....
Winter is just around the corner. My wife said she wanted some new coats in time for the season change. I told her I could give her that as a gift, along with the many others in her list. Haha!

While she was browsing online, I accidentally saw that she is also looking at Wide Calf Boots. I was really thinking of buying her a pair to complete her winter get up. I have not told her about that because I want it to be a surprise. She loves surprises and I love giving her some. But now that I saw her looking at them, I am sure she wanted to get one in her hands.

I have conspired with our daughter already. I told her to ask her mom what is the design that she wanted. Our daughter is kind of talkative but I know she can help me with this little surprise for mommy. I am crossing my fingers that my wife does not get even a little hint of my plans. I really want this surprise to be successful. This is the least I can do for a very patient, loving, kind and hardworking wife that she is.

This is the biggest bream that I have ever caught. I was so excited to come home and show it to my wife.

I got lucky and I had so much fun fishing. I know I am addicted to fishing. I just love it! Catching the biggest bream was a lot of fun because I know my wife would love to eat it!
There are many incidents in life that we are not prepared for, financially. With the meager amount that the family is earning I can't blame them for not having a savings for emergency purposes. For a family that only one is working, I can understand why one can't have a money set for emergency. I know how it is when what you earn is just enough to pay the bills and provide food for the table.

Now, if emergency happens, there are places that we can turn to. One of them is the car title loans pittsburgh. With this, we can get fast cash the easy way. It is not practical though to get a loan for no apparent reason.
Living in a foreign country with your loved ones left in your own land could be really hard at the beginning. This is true for me, having a Filipina wife. At the start, we Make International Calls almost every day just so she does not miss her relatives that much and to also assure them that we are fine. There were times when International Calling was hard to make because the facilities back then were not yet as high tech as the ones we have now.

Speaking of facilities, back then, the prices of calls are also very high. Imagine the amount we used to pay when we call internationally almost every day. Thanks to modern technology, Low Cost International Calling is now within everybody’s reach. From landline to mobile phone, we can now call them, wherever they are in the world!

It has been years already since my wife left her homeland and this country is no longer foreign to her. But we still call her relatives every now and then just to make sure we catch up with them. Besides, who would not want to take advantage of the many advances in our telecommunication services, right?
This is the 2nd week of college football and it is getting more exciting. This week, my favorite team LSU was not on TV though I was able to monitor them online. I also saw some of the game highlights through ESPN.

Truth be told, we are one of the many Americans who are addicted to college football. We watch almost all day all night. Thankfully, my wife and daughter also loves the game so it doesn't sound like I am hogging the TV in our living room.

While watching football yesterday, none of us felt like cooking so we decided to order pizza online! So we ate pizza while watching football. Football and pizza? Perfect!
When I asked people about the destinations they want to visit in their lifetime, New York is in the list of many. Why not? New York is New York. The busy streets, the towering buildings, the shopping alleys, the magnificent tourist spots are all in one place. Looking for a place to stay there is no problem because Hotels in New York City are all over the place too!

The responses I got why they wanted to visit New York did not vary a lot, especially those that came from the ladies. They wanted to visit New York to experience the night life. They want to know how it is different from the rest of the world. Of course shopping is the top reason why they wanted to visit there. Who would not want to experience a private sale from the most expensive brands out there? Who would not want to take home luxury items at a discounted price from Saks Fifth? I tell you, if you heard what these ladies said, they can go over and over about the topic of shopping! Sometimes it makes me nuts but I know shopping is really equated to ladies so I do not blame them at all. Haha! Maybe there is a time when it is best to visit New York.

Times now are really hard, even I find it difficult to keep up with the demands of family life. Everything is priced high now. Every time we do our grocery shopping, I have noticed that we get less and less. All the expenses and sometimes the “wants” have to be really budgeted well.

There are many people that are jobless or that are forced to quit their jobs because some companies decided to close their operations. It is very hard to find a job that is related to your experience or your education. But what choice do you have when you have mouths to be fed and you have family to be clothed? One will take any kind of job that will be able to augment family expenses and to survive. Even the odd jobs, they would take as long as it is decent and not illegal. Even if they find it a new learning experience like working in ash handling systems, they would really grab the opportunity. It really doesn’t matter at all, as long as at the end of the day, they have earned and can put food on their tables. In today's struggling economy, what matters most is you have the job.

I was still feeling rough when I went back to work last Friday. After a good rest during the labor day weekend I am back to my old self.

I stopped taking the antibiotics that the doctor gave me because it triggered my Ulcerative Colitis. Despite stopping the antibiotics, thankfully I am now better.

We had a simple labor day weekend. I slept mostly. We did our usual weekend routine doing some errands. We spent our labor day at Mom and Dan's as we were invited to have dinner with them.

It was raining so hard during our long weekend but we enjoyed the rain. I hope you all had a great Labor day weekend!

I have been working in the freight forwarding business for a while now. I have knowledge on custom rules on different countries regarding freights. The job is quite fulfilling and very interesting.

Being in the freight forwarding industry, I have dealt with different drivers from different companies when it comes to picking up and delivering freights. I have befriended many truck drivers and learn about their jobs and their stories. I have known that truck driving jobs are not easy especially those long hauls. Being on the road all day all night is not easy especially during bad weathers. Driving under heavy rains and snow is not fun when you do it all the time. Accidents in the road are aplenty during bad weather. Accidents are very common in Alabama when it snows because most drivers are not used to the road condition when it snows.

The plus factor of being a truck driver is the big pay. Some companies give their drivers a big chunk in their salary because it is a very hard job. So, if you want a job driving trucks, I am sure there are companies who have vacancies and are posting some drivers wanted ad in job search websites.

I am an LSU fan so I am waiting for Saturday to come because its their kick off! Their first game is a big test for them considering that some key players are suspended and won't be able to play. Will they win against Oregon? It is a tough call! I hope that they will of course!

Anyway, college football starts tonight. This will be another exciting year of football. I can't wait! My neighbor and I have been talking about this for months! Now, it is time to hang up my team's flag!

Geaux Tigers!!!!

I admit that I am a smoker. I have tried so hard to quit but I am still not successful with it. I can stop smoking for few weeks then again I have a health condition that when I quit smoking, my Ulcerative Colitis flares up. I know some of you won't believe it but even my gastroenterologist told me that some people have the same condition with mine. Every time I stop smoking, my UC flares up. I wonder if I use e cig instead of cigarette will be better? I need to try it because honestly I really want to stop smoking because I know it will be better for everyone in my family. If only my UC won't flare up every time I quit..... If only...
My dad loves to do a lot of gardening. I am actually worried that sometimes he worked too much in his garden. Being in too much heat under the sun is not good for him anymore as he is not getting any younger. This year, he worked less because of his health condition.

Dad received a lot of garden gifts from everyone. Dad's garden is really cool. It fascinates me to see him grow colored cottons. He and his wife also grow different colors of roses and all the other fruits in their little vineyard.
I got sick as I have mentioned in my other post. I had to call our family doctor because I am feeling so bad. It was a good thing that they accommodated me right away.

I went to the doctor yesterday and found out that I have sinus infection. I was ordered to take a rest and take medication.

Basically, I am off for two days. 2 Day sick leave. I hope to feel better by tomorrow since I need to go back to work again. This is my second day of not working and all I want to do is sleep. I just wake up do a little bit of online thing and then sleep again.

Hope you all are in good spirits. I hate being sick!
I just called the apartment office earlier because our bathroom is leaking. The shower is leaking and so does our toilet bowl. It may sound like not a bad situation but it adds up to our water bill. Coincidentally, the manager told me that there were other tenants who called having the same problem. Our apartment complex has been around for decades so I am sure there are already rust in their piping system. I guess they should need to look for goulds pumps at WeGotPumps.com and replace all the pumps that need to be replaced. I know that replacing those pipes will be a big help to lessen the repairs they have to do in each and every unit.
