Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells are a cell series produced from the ovary of a Chinese hamster. They are generally utilized in biological and medical study and commercially in the generation of therapeutic proteins. They were presented in the 1960s and expand as a cultured monolayer. They need the amino acid proline in their culture medium.

CHO cells are used in research of genetics, toxicity testing, nutrition and gene expression, particularly to express recombinant proteins. Today, CHO cells are the most frequently used mammalian hosts for commercial manufacturing of recombinant protein therapeutics.

If you need cho cell media, STEMCELL has a variety of selection you could choose from.
