When Mischa was young I always tried to spoil her in different ways. She was "MY GIRL." I would have class pizza parties for her whole class and it always made her feel good that her dad was the one that brought pizza for the whole class. But the most special thing I did for my baby was to send her flowers every year on her birthday to school. It didn't matter her age she got flowers. Sometimes I just sent for no special reason except that she is my daughter and I wanted her to feel special. They would be delivered to the school and she would be called to the office to pick them up. When I picked her up from school it was so sweet to see my "little daughter" carrying flowers almost as big as she was in a vase.

The last time we were in Mobile Mischa said something that I will never ever forget and I will cherish for the rest of my life. We were in a store and there were flowers and she said Daddy you know you set the standard. You sent me flowers. And I want that from any man I love.

To hear Mischa say that just made my heart swell so much. I wanted to hug her right then and there.

You know it's funny you do a lot for your children but it's the little things that come back and you are like WOW I DID GOOD!!!

This story to me is my "daddy's reward." I can feel good about myself because I made someone I love so very much feel so special.

Thanks Mischa for remembering the flowers and letting me know it was special to you, that meant so much to me.

Daddy wrote this blog for you because I wanted you to know how much it meant to me that you remembered that moment in our lives.

I love you doodle and I'm very proud of where you have taken your life. You have overcome a lot of obstacles. You are doing great!!!

I always treasure our bonding moment with my little girl. Although she is a Mama's girl, we still have our moments together.

Take a glimpse of our bonding moments....

She loves the long slide... she is not scared at all ...

We spent our family weekend together with my Dad and Jan in their place at Killen, Alabama. We couldn't visit them as often as we would want because of so many reasons but every once in a while, I make sure that we go visit them.

As usual, Andrea got spoiled! When we got there, there were toys waiting for Andrea. I am proud of Andrea as she was showing her usual happy self.

We all enjoyed spending our weekend with them. It was also great to see Chris (my stepbrother) whom I haven't seen in ages. It was so great that Lulu and Chris finally met in person. I always tell Lulu that she will like Chris as we all share the same type of humor.

We had enjoy each others company updating what's new with our lives. Saturday, we just spent the whole afternoon bonding and had a sumptuous meal which made all our tummy miserably happy. Dad can surely cook! His pork roast was just so good.

Sunday, we went out to see "Leo and Una", the Lions at University of North Alabama. Then we had our lunch at Shoney's (Lulu was excited about it...). After lunch, we went to the river and let Andrea enjoyed the playground near the Tennessee river. When we went home to Dad's we all had a nap (after Andrea played with another new toy, pots and pans!)...

At around 3:30pm, we went home. We went home with a bag full of apples and pears from their backyard... Lulu is surely happy....lol

It was a great weekend. We surely enjoyed it. Thanks Dad and Jan for having us. We love you both!

I know I don't post new entries as I should. I just felt exhausted and mentally drain every time I come home because of so much things to do at work.

My workload keeps increasing and I am doing my best to catch up on things that I am not very familiar with. So far so good, since I already learn to do some new things already. When everything will be settled at work, I hope to post new entries often.

Thanks for your visits and keep coming back for new updates.

Lulu saved all our coke rewards from the cokes and powerades we drank. I used a lot of powerades at work so they really added up. She cashed some of them in and got two restaurant gift certificates so we decided to go to John's City Diner. I called Mom and Dan and asked if they wanted to join us. Mom said "why don't you and Lulu go out and have some time alone we will watch Andrea". Lulu and I were both very hesitant about this because Andrea is such a mommy's girl and when she is upset she only wants her mom (OK OK OK YES SHE IS SPOILED), but we made mom promise if she starts crying that they would call us.

We dropped Andrea off and snuck out for our date. Lulu was dressed up in a very fashionable yet sexy skirt, I was like WOW!!!! We arrived at the diner and before I went in I called mom to make sure Andrea was ok with everything. All was fine there Andrea was having fun playing and of course eating goodies.

Lulu had gumbo for appetizer I had fried oysters. It was the first time Lulu had tried gumbo and she liked it. The oysters were good also. For our main meal Lulu had snapper with mango and pineapple sauce I had trout with lemon.

To be honest the food was ok, just better than average but for the price it was not worth it. The atmosphere of the diner was wonderful though. It was great for me and Lulu to be out alone with no worries. We talked about a lot of things and just relaxed. Lulu is with Andrea pretty much all the time so for her I was really happy she was out.

When we were finished I called mom and asked how everything was, mom said Andrea was still being great, so we went to Wall-Mart and shopped for a bit.

When we arrived back at mom's, Andrea was very excited to see us and turned around and wanted to kiss mom goodbye because she thought we were leaving right then, BUT while we were gone the little bugger didn't miss us at all haha she was having too much fun at Mom and Dan's!!!!

I was really proud of Andrea she just went with the flow and did her own thing. It means a lot to me that she is so comfortable at Mom and Dans, but it's not surprising because when we are at Mom and Dan's it is them she wants to spend the time with. It is like she knows that is their time to be with her.

It was a great night being out with Lulu just the two of us. Now that we know that Andrea is ok with us being away we want to go to a movie, we really miss that. Lulu and I both want to see Pelham 123, the trailer looks so good.

Thanks so much Mom and Dan. And thanks babe it was a special night for sure and you looked so nice. Love you all.

Yes it will be finally be here COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!! My favorite hobby/pastime is LSU football and I look forward to the start of the season. Especially now that our team has been good for the last few years even winning a couple national championships.

When I was growing up LSU football was my dad's favorite so of course it became my favorite too. We watched the games on TV and kept up with the games that were not on TV in the newspaper (ok I am OLD that was before internet haha).

There is nothing so special to me but the days my family would sit and watch the LSU games when I was a child. It was a bond between us for sure. We always had great snacks during the games, usually cheese and crackers.

Living in the South, football is more like a religion than a sport. Bragging rights are at stake. LSU usually has a good team but only once (1958) until the last couple of years has won the national championship. We did win a couple of SEC (our conference) championships though. I grew up in Florida and Alabama and they always had good teams so being a LSU fan it was great if we beat Florida or Alabama. Unfortunately it was not very often that we beat them so I took the brunt of the teasing about my team.

Over the years I developed my favorite players and rooted for them in the pros also. My favorite all time LSU player was Tommy Casonova. He was a safety and a hard hitter that played many years in the pros. He retired and used his LSU degree in dentistry to open a practice. Some of my other favorites were Bert Jones, and Charles Alexander.

Lulu really suprised me after she got here and watched football. She quickly became addicted after she learned the rules and how the game is played. Of course her liking LSU really helped haha. But serious she really knows the game and it really impressed me!! My daughter Mischa is also a big LSU fan even though her mom's family are all BIG Alabama fans. A daddy's girl for sure!!!

You know I type this blog and yet there are thousands of others are feeling the same waiting for football season. Fans of all teams all over the country. College football is the biggest sport in America and fans love it.

As I close I will say goodluck to all the other fans in the nation and I hope your teams do well UNLESS playing LSU!!!

GEAUX TIGERS: That means GO Tigers (our nickname). South Lousiana where LSU is has a big french connection so hence the GEAUX instead of Go.

I am glad the week is almost over. It has been a hard week for me at work. My officemate took a 3-day vacation and I have to work the night shift. I don't like the night shift because I don't see Andrea anymore. When I get home from work, she is already asleep. No more bonding moment for us.

I always love it when Andrea is so happy to see me when I get off work. I can just hear her excited voice saying "daddy" and her lovely smile.... even how stressful my day at work, when I hear her and gives me a smile, I always forget how stressed I am.

I am ready for the weekend. To spend more time with my wife and my daughter.

It was a boring night so I decided to chat. I went into a room and started clicking names and saying hello. Well I clicked on one name and said hello. The conversation went from there and was very good. I asked for the cam. I will NEVER forget this cam for it is the person that I will spend the rest of my life with. I remember her hair was shoulder length. I remember her smile. But most of all I remember thinking wow she's beautiful.

Our conversation was so good I im'd her the next night and we talked for hours. This led to another night and another. We didn't at first talk about anything serious mostly we were silly and having fun. I remember we debated which was better avocado or mango. Hmmm well I STILL think avocado haha. Most of all we just laughed.

Well all of a sudden we were chatting every night laughing, being silly and just having fun. I went and bought a cam because I felt was not fair she didn't see me also. It was the first time I was ever on the cam.

As I said we never chatted serious we were just like best friends. We chatted every night for hours. We never flirted just friends. This went on for a few years, but over the years we started to discuss some more serious subjects also. I learned some tagalog and we learned a lot about each other. I had a friend that I could tell ANYTHING to.

We hardly ever missed a night chatting. If she was away she would send me a message. If I was away I would find a computer to at least leave an offline or email to say hi.

You know reading this most will say hmmm they chatted every night they must have had feelings for each other. Well I guess the only two that didn't know that was me and her. EVERYONE else her friends and mine thought there was much more to this. Looking back now we both realize yes there was but we liked things like they were.

The first time I told her of my feelings she told me that she didn't want to ruin our friendship. I was crushed and embarrassed. But the next day when we discussed it she told me that she felt the same. I was soooooo happy.

The first time I met her we were friends yet we walked everywhere arm in arm. It was wonderful to finally meet the one that I talked with every night.

After she said yes my life was complete. We have had a wonderful marriage and a wonderful daughter. I am a lucky man for sure.

Is this fate or just a lucky occurrence? I don't know and I don't care. All I know is that wow life finally took a good direction for me.

I love you babe thanks for being in my life!!!!

I love to travel and I have been very fortunate to have been able to see many places not just in America but all over the world. I guess my roots of loving travel came when I was a child, we moved many times. It was always exciting to be somewhere new with new places to explore.

My first experience in another country was Mexico. I was stationed at Ft Bliss on the Mexican border. I went to Mexico a few times but being a border town it was mostly a place for vices. I wish I had seen the "true" Mexico.

My first overseas experience was Germany. I was stationed in the Frankfurt area and worked on the military side of the Frankfurt airport. The thing I remember most about the German people is that they had a lot of pride. If you went out to eat in Germany they wanted you to at least TRY to order in German. If you did not try they would never admit to knowing English. If you tried to order in German and was having problems they would help you in English. I always respected that since it IS their country.

I worked in Kosovo as a civilian contractor. Kosovo is a place that is very hard to describe. It can be modern in some ways but primative in others. Both World Wars started from the Balkin areas. The different religions and areas just cannot get along and you can feel it when there. But I will also remember that the Kosovo people are very hard to really know but once you do know them if they like you they would do anything for you. I remember one time I went to a diner with some friends I had made there. I needed to use the bathroom. I excused myself and two of my friends got up when I did. They actually stood outside the bathroom door while I was in the bathroom, one on each side. The were protecting me, as I was not from there. There was nothing for me to fear and they mostly knew that, but they grew up in a society that mostly consisted of war so they never let their guard down. I was actually honored.

But my FAVORITE place in the world is the Philippines. I will never forget getting off the airplane the first time. I was on vacation from Kosovo. The smell of the air, the humid air, yet the beauty of it all. The thing (besides my wife of course being from there) that I will never forget about the Philippines is the people. They are humble, and just so nice. Of course all cultures have their people that are not "the best" but there were not many here. Everywhere I went people smiled and some even though times were rough for them laughed and just enjoyed life. The families there are so close and if you are ever accepted into one as I have been then you are INSTANT family. The kids find me different and interesting and it's so funny being around them being so fascinated. My family in the Philippines are the most wonderful of people.

I guess writing this I really realize how lucky I really am to have seen so many places. I hope to see more. Lulu and I would love to see Sweden and other areas of the world.

Yesterday, it rained so hard. We were on our way home from grocery shopping when it started to pour. At first, I can see the lightning that really lights up the sky. Then, thunder followed. I know that ahead of me is a heavy rain.

I love rain and I am not scared of driving through the rain. I am confident of my driving skills. To my amazement, the rain poured so hard that it was almost zero visibility. For a time or two, I decided like other drivers in the road to pull over. I couldn't risk the safety of my family. While we were in the roadside, we can clearly see the trees blown by heavy winds and the pouring of heavy rains. I was almost sure that there were hells, which means that bad weather is coming up and I don't want to be caught up in the road with a tornado warning or something. I drive the car home slowly and we got home safe. We have to run from the parking lot to our place and we all got wet. I was soaking wet because I have to bring the groceries in first and came back to get my daughter.

I think that was the heaviest rain I ever experienced.

It has been a stressful week at work. The brokerage is now closed. That means that the people I work with, (although I work in the freight division) since I started working in UPS-SCS Birmingham will be out of work. They wont be working with us anymore. All 4 of them will be out of Job. Another co-worker also from the freight division will be laid off.

It has been really stressful lately. There is no more guarantee of any job in this economic hardship. I am scared to lose my job for sure because I have my family to support. I feel lucky to still have the job but at the same time, I feel sad for those who lost their jobs.

I will miss the guys over at brokerage. We have been working in the same office since 2006. I wish them all the best of luck.

Happy 4th of July everyone!

We had lunch (late lunch, early dinner) at Mom's today. Dan cooked his famous ribs. He did made a new recipe for his ribs. He put some brown sugar in it. I admit it made the ribs taste way better.

Andrea loves the ribs. At her age, it is surprising how much she likes spicy foods. As usual, she enjoyed being the center of the attention.

After being miserable with the great food, we decided to go outside and walk. Andrea love the outsides and we had fun running around the yard.

After a while, we decided to have our dessert!... watermelon!

It was a great day of celebrating 4th of July!

It is always great to see my older daughter Mischa. I had the chance to see her today together with Ben. They are on their way to Florence to spend their 4th of July with her mother.

Mischa and I had been through a lot. My love for her never change though. She is still my precious girl. I am glad that she likes my new family and she bonds with her little sister Andrea. They look so cute together.

The visit was not very long but I am very happy to see her. The visit ended with hugs and I love yous. I am looking forward to seeing her (and Ben) again!

We have been watching X-files in Sci Fi Channel. My wife and I always enjoy it. I am glad that they are showing the Pilot episode. We have been planning to rent the DVDs of the early episodes that way we can watch it together.

Watching tv shows that we both enjoy is one of our bonding moments. Since X-Files is shown late, most of the time our daughter Andrea is already asleep during the show. Her being asleep, makes us uninterrupted while watching. Although I don't care if she interrupts us when we watched our usual movies or tv shows.
